Running when sick

Now that flu season has arrived a question you may be faced with is if it’s okay to run when you’re sick. The best answer is to listen to your body. Don’t run if you need to work a lot harder than usual to run your regular pace. However, if you can manage without undue effort, running can be a good way to temporarily relieve nasal congestion

An additional tip is that it’s okay to run if your symptoms are “above the neck” (i.e. runny nose, sore throat, sneezing). However, don’t run if your symptoms include those “below the neck” (i.e. chest congrestion, upset stomach, muscle aches). Also, be very cautious if you have a fever.
